Equitable’s E Banking App

A convenient and easy to use Mobile E Banking app is now available in the app stores. 

INSTALLING THE APP AND REGISTERING AS A NEW USER

Simply search for “Equitable Bank” in the iTunes or Google Play Store, install the app and register as a new user.  (To do this, hit the box that says “New Mobile User? Tap to Register”.  You will need your checking or savings account number, the last 4 digits of the social security number and date of birth of the account holder.)  Your user name and password for the new app can be the same as you’re currently using for Online Banking (if they meet the password requirements – the app requires 8 characters and must include a number, an upper and lower case letter AND a special character in the password).

FEATURES

Turn access to your debit card on and off with My Cards.  If you’ve lost your debit card, simply turn the card off and once it’s found, you can turn access back on.  As an added security measure, you can always keep your debit card “off” and use the app to turn it back on before you make a purchase.  

Pay a friend quickly and easily using just their phone number or email address and the Mobile E Banking app from Equitable.  Go to “Pay a Friend”, enter the email address or phone number to receive texts, the account to move the money from and the amount to send.  After your friend receives the notification, they will go to the link included in the notice, and enter their banking information to complete the electronic transfer.  You can request money from a friend using this feature as well! 

If you’d like to move money to or from an account at another Bank, External Transfers can be set up.  After you add your account, several test transfers will be made.  You will need to access the other bank account to determine the amounts of those transfers to complete the external transfer process.  This process can take 3-5 days to complete so please be sure to allow additional time when initiating your first transfer. 

Use Picture Pay to pay bills from a smartphone simply by taking a photo of the invoice.  This is a great feature when paying a one-time bill or invoice that doesn’t occur regularly.  Even better, the invoice can be handwritten, so your babysitter can write out an invoice for picture payment if you choose. 

Bill Pay is accessible through the app.  Current online bill pay users can see all their current payees and schedule a payment right from the app.  If you’ve never used Online Bill Pay, you will need to register for use within Online Banking and set up your payees so you can access them from the app.

Mobile deposit makes it easy to deposit a check without coming to the bank.  Just snap a photo of both sides of the check.  (Endorse the back, like you would normally.)  Keep the check for 7 days to make sure it went through.  Note on the check “mobile deposit” so no one tries to deposit it again.  You can shred the check after 30 days.

Auto login lets you see all your account balances without logging in to the app.  (If you wish to complete a transaction, you will be prompted to log in at that time.)

PIN login is also available.  After downloading the app and registering for use (this will need to be done the first time you use it) you can set a 4 digit PIN number to use rather than logging in with a user name and password.

To set up Auto Login and PIN login, you will go to settings after registering for use.  Be sure to remember your user name and password.  Even if you’ll be using the PIN login, you will need your user name and password if you need to reinstall.

You can reset your own password by going to “help” in the app.
